The Sustainable Natural Resources and Livelihoods Programme (SNRLP), co-financed by IFAD, focuses on improving production and securing access to natural resources for vulnerable communities in rural Sudan.
rowsquared was engaged to support the project by outlining the design for a comprehensive online M&E tool and conducting capacity-building workshops.
For the SNRLP project, we developed a whitepaper that outlined the architecture of an M&E tool. This tool was designed to track beneficiaries, indicators, activities, and progress, and link to the project accounting system. We worked closely with project staff to assess user needs and recommend a transition from their existing Excel-based system.
The whitepaper provided a clear framework for migrating to an online platform, focusing on data integrity and ease of use. It was intended to guide local Sudanese developers in building the tool. However, the civil war in Sudan in 2023 interrupted the process.
In parallel, rowsquared conducted a four-day remote workshop for IFAD’s Near East, North Africa, Europe, and Central Asia (NEN) region. Around 70 participants attended, learning how to use the CAPI software Survey Solutions for M&E in their local projects.
Our strategic guidance for the M&E tool, coupled with hands-on training in data collection, strengthened IFAD’s capacity to manage monitoring and evaluation systems across its projects.
