Business Ready Surveys assess the ease of doing business across countries, but need to be tailored to local contexts while still yielding globally comparable data.
The World Banks Sub-national Business Ready project aims to adapt national business environment assessment tools to regional and local levels, with plans for deployment across various EU countries and beyond, helping to identify regulatory disparities and implementation gaps within countries.
rowsquared was tasked with incorporating adjustments made by the World Bank’s subnational team into existing digital survey templates. Our role involved taking the changes developed for subnational use and ensuring they were accurately reflected in the Computer-Assisted Web Interview (CAWI) forms, enabling key experts to complete the surveys online. This process helped streamline digital delivery and improve data collection efficiency.
Additionally, we provided detailed feedback on the original national questionnaires, bringing a fresh perspective based on our survey expertise. This feedback is currently under internal review by the World Bank team, contributing to potential improvements in future iterations of the Business Ready initiative’s tools.
rowsquared ensured that subnational assessments were effectively integrated into the global initiative, maintaining global consistency while accommodating local contexts.
