Diego Shirima

Diego is a survey expert with 12+ years of experience in managing and monitoring electronic data collections. He is deeply familiar with a wide variety of survey types and complex survey designs, such as listing with in-field sampling, multi-instrument institutional surveys or high frequency surveys. His responsibilities often include developing and contextualising questionnaires, scripting and translating CAPI tools, pre-testing and piloting instruments and methodology, conducting field-work training, as well as developing and managing the data quality assurance tools and protocols. As a data manager and CAPI expert he has advised and contributed to numerous projects in Africa and the Latin American and Caribbean region.
Diego holds a Master’s in Applied Development Economics from Laval University and is due to complete a MSc in Applied Economics and Business at Mzumbe University.
He is based in Dar-es-Salaam and speaks fluently Swahili and English, and some Chaga.
